Mel Crosby from Eureka Ski shares a quick update on conditions in Serre Chevalier at the moment — and since my visit two weeks ago, it has snowed again …

Eychauda blue run

It has been snowing overnight for the last few nights, with a good 20cm+ falling on Sunday evening. The on-piste skiing is typical of spring, with a fluffy white topping above 1800 metres altitude this morning.

Grand Pre off-piste

Gavin was with two private clients cruising the blues first thing, then doing a bit of gentle freestyle with a Level 5 group at midday, and then off-piste high above Monetier village this afternoon – making new tracks in half a foot of fresh stuff! Below 1700 metres the snow turns slushy by mid-morning – still great to ski if pisted the night before. Expect heavier ‘slushiness’ around 1600 metres and below. It’s due to snow again early next week!
