Snow snippets: 25 February

Not great, eh? But at least there is fresh snow
All change in Whistler again, as active weather fronts swept cloud, fog and snowfall back across the region. It’s playing havoc with the Olympic Alpine events once again, but promises good recreational skiing once it clears.
The warm sunshine was short-lived, but produced a glorious few days on the hill for the athletes and for recreational skiers and boarders; some runs were becoming soft and slushy at lower levels though.
The snowfall has begun lightly, in intermittent showers; there has been 6cm in the past two days. This is expected to continue all week, with significant amounts accumulating on the upper mountains – they are expecting rain below 1500m on Friday though and strong south-easterly winds. We hope this won’t prevent play in the women and men’s slalom events.
