This year we have decided on a chalet holiday in St Martin De Belleville and we just wanted to know if the snow would be reliable in mid December and also any other info on the place itself, thanks.

Thanks for your advice, unfortunately, the chalet we were planning to stay with are closed for renovation work for the season, we’ve looked around but can’t quite find anywhere like it. So now we have another question. We want to stay somewhere with a traditional village base that will be charming over Christmas but also has an extensive ski area (four stars in the book at least) and obviously guaranteed snow. Thanks again

Perhaps I am not the best person to assess “charming” but I found Val d’Isere (which is largely a purpose built ski resort) very attractive over Christmas. Being a largely English resort Christmas is pushed a bit more than it would be in a resort that has largely French clientele.

We found another chalet and are now definatly going to St Martin, we just wanted to know if there would be snow at village level on the buildings etc. in mid to late December.
