I am looking to get a new pair of goggles and thinking of getting a pair of Oakley Stockholm. But I’m kinda stuck in which lens lint as they differ in light transmission and protection index. I’m not too sure which will suit the widest range of condition, e.g. flat to medium light or medium to bright light. Any advice please?

Many thanks in advance ../graphics/emot1.gif

Hi Loulou,
I do not usually wear goggles but a pair which are double glazed can help prevent misting, also a pair with an amber lens will help with glare and give better contrast in flat light. If the dealer is any good (someone who skis or boards themselves and not someone helping out at the weekends who does not do snowsports)they should be able to advise you and make sure you have te pair best for you.

Oakley along with Bolle,Cebe,Vuarnet etc all use top quality lenses in all thier glasses and goggles so most will be good, also the lens needs to be both UVA & UVB protected, but again most are as amatter of course.

Ho this helps, and enjoy yourself in the mountains,
jon.

Jon,

I think Cebe no longer make goggles, though there may still be some old stock in the shops.

Sorry for another question - whether polarized lens really matters?

Hi Guys

Oakley launched a pair of goggles at the end of 2012 called Airwave. It has a build in GPS and heads up display.

I skied the whole season with them and really enjoyed using them. They also have interchangeable lenses as well as online software that imports the data. It is pricey but it was worth it for me.

I wrote a blog post on the Oakley Airwave Goggles.
