Hello,

Does anyone have any feedback on this hotel or resort?  I have not been before but really like the look of it.  Looking for something ski in, ski out or at least close to lifts, traditional rather than really modern but with some extras like swimming pool / hot tub?  I am a good / intermediate skier travelling with an intermediate snow boarder.  We like a bit of a challange but most days quite happy for some picturesque skiing!

Thanks in advance

Jen

Jen,

Sorry you’ve not had any replies. I have been to Hinterglemm, but it was eleven years ago and to a different hotel. As I remember it Saalbach felt “traditional town-ish” (narrow streets between large buildings) but Hinterglemm was villagey with space around most buildings (except for a short stretch of the main street). Several hotels were ski-in (or close to it) from the slopes on the north side of the valley, but from the south side (which I think is where the steeper pistes are) there was a flat field to cross. I was after easy intermediate skiing myself and there was plenty of that.

regards, Richard

PS correction: I see from a tour-op brochure that Alpine Palace is new since my visit, and the hotel I stayed in (Wolf) is now its “original wing”. I can confirm that is right beside a north-side piste.
