Anyone ever bought these? Custom made ski boots from the best sports shop I’ve ever visisted (Strolz, in Lech). Look pretty good but don’t know how much they’ll cost (expensive I presume) and how they shape up compared with the mainstream manufacturers custom moulding etc.

Interested to hear from anyone in the know

Cheers

cant say i have heard of Strolz, but i purchased a pair of Technica Icon ski boots about three years ago and would not be without them now, they are the most comfortable boots i have owned in over 17 years or so.If you are thinking of making a purchase take the time to make sure they are right for you as making sure your ski boots are as comfortable as posible is the most important requirement of buying ski equipment.
best of luck

Thanks anyway Jon. Currently have Tecnica Rival x8 and even though I’ve had them moulded with the hot form, had custom foot beds and even had the shell heat expanded a little, they still give me pins and needles.
Checck out the Strolz website though to see what I’m talking about - these guys really know what they’re doing, having seen all the technology for the boot fitting. http://www.strolz.at

Hi,
My wife bought me a pair of Strolz boots for a present. They are expensive so that’s the way to get them. They fit like gloves and I can ski all day without noticing it.

You’ll need to book two appointments, one for the measuring which is a very thorough process. Then go back the following day for the fitting. This process includes the "foaming out’ of the boot lining. They pad the "wear points" on your foot with little adhesive pads like corn-plasters. The result is that there really isn’t enough space for your feet in the boot and as the foam sets it does feel that your feet are being clamped in a vice. Whatever, both the pain and the money are worth it, they do achieve a perfect fit. So if you’ve got the money or can persuade someone else I’d recommend them, I’m sure they’ll be a lifetime investment.

Thanks Harald. Have already booked my appointments, and a bit like you, my wife is buying them for my Christmas (will some cash input from me to justify the cost). It’s always good to hear from someone who has got them, as it’s difficult to find out much about them on the net.
Thanks
Bob
