It is important to remember that not all bindings are and the release charicteristics vary. A given din setting that worked fine on one pair, may give you false releases for a different pair.
I think the most important factor in binding setting, is the condition of a persons legs. This is of course, a question of fitness, but more impotantly, the type of fitness. Cross training that involves a high degree of instability will give much better protection than say, training done on an exercise machine. Someone who inline skates, or plays football will be better protected than someone that uses a road bike for exercise. So just as being honest about our ability level is important, so is honesty about the condition of your legs.
