Yay! They had quite a bit in Austria this week. Hopefully this means that snow bases will begin to recover high up now.

We have begun a regular update - currently called ‘Glacier watch. It’s meant to highlight the conditions in the run-up to the season proper, and most open resorts in October / November will be glacier ones. As things really get going, we’ll pick up our snow overviews again. And there will be snow and weather feeds here soon too.

Anyone taking a December break?

Jon,

Do you actually pay your tax in person? Paying online is very easy. Even I can manage it without speaking a word of French.
Whoops sorry Wendy I am drifting off topic yet again

Hi both

Glad to see you’re back in action on the forum cool smile

I haven’t actually planned my skiing yet - though hoping to fit in a couple of days before Christmas, probably Austria.

So, John - do you reckon we should create an ‘off-topic’ forum too (kinda coffee lounge for chit chat)? Seems to be popular on other outdoor sport forums.

Hi John,

I normally pay my Taxe Foncieres by cheque and just drop it in the post via International Recorded delivery, but when my Taxe D’Habitation arrives it gives me an excuse for a sneaky long weekend away to BsM, and I just drop into the Tresorerie Public office and pay in cash.

It’s interesting you mention about paying online I hadn’t thought of that, I will deffinately have a look into that, cheers.

When will you next be out in Les Arcs?, I think there is some snow expected in the next week or so.

Wendy

I think that would be good, as it does seem that when topics are replied to (certainly in my case sometimes) we do go off topic at times, and then come full circle as it were. grin

You could do with some R & R Wendy after getting the site up and running, good job bye the way.

Ok - if others agree, we’ll see what we can do.

Many thanks - it’s a full team effort, and the designers are doing a great job. Lots more to do, but we’ll be heading for the snow as soon as we can - watch out for the blogs!

And we look forward to your reports on Les Arcs this year.
