As we’ve started a thread on UK departure airports and your tips, rants etc. This one is for destination airports. Might be an idea to give the airport city name , country at the top of any comment as there are so many possibilities now.

I’ll kick off with Ljubljana, Slovenia: what a relaxed arrival to this quiet city airport. Easyjet flies here once a week

+ crowd free generally
+ fast delivery of bags
+ very easy access to/from the main highway

- limited facilities as it’s a small airport
- baggage reclaim is small, and skis appear from behind a poorly marked door
- hire car desks are not in the terminal, you’ll need to cross the road to another building -  but there were no queues. Waiting area a bit small.
- signing is a bit slack at times, to/from the parking. But it was so quiet on a Saturday, I could afford to take a few drives around the block hassle-free!

I believe the only reason the Airport of Ljubljana is crowd free ,fast delivery etc because of less number of passengers and not much numbers of flights are taking up.
Ljubljana   a tiny country, about half , and counts just over two million people. But the only way to describe pint-sized Slovenia (Slovenija), an independent republic bordering Italy, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and the Adriatic Sea, is that it’s ‘a mouse that roars’.

Zurich Airport

+‘s
New terminal, very clean and quite tranquil
Direct access to the trains (SBB) for easy transfers to central Switzerland, Prattigau, St Anton am Arlberg and even Zermatt is pain free.
Nice deli to buy lunch and wine for the train journey (plastic cups and cutlery provided) just above the train station.
Fewer budget flights so less manic than Geneva when waiting for a flight home

-‘s
The shopping is too good (i.e. expensive) and there’s a tempting Lindt & Spungli stall right in the middle of the departure lounge!

Does Zurich airport have a swiss army knife stall inside the security barriers like at Geneva? I wonder how that works.
