Ski flights to Sion announced
Ski flight specialist, Snowjet, has just announced a new route to Sion, Switzerland from next winter.
The company, part of the Satellite Travel group, will operate weekly flights to Sion from London Stansted - the UK’s only route to the Swiss airport. The flights will operate on Saturdays/Sundays from 19 December 2009, with prices starting at £49 one-way. As an early booking incentive, Snowjet are offering free ski/board carriage if you book before 31 August.
Sion sits at the heart of the Valais region, its tiny airport (more used to military, rather than commercial jets) is overlooked by the Four Valley’s ski area - notably Nendaz and Thyon, just 20 minutes or so up the hillside.
Sion also cuts the transfer time to a number of resorts along the valley (Crans Montana and Anzère - 20 minutes away, Val d’Anniviers 45 minutes for example) and its historic centre makes a great touring base for combining visits to several of these resorts.
