Solden announces new lift, improved restaurant
Solden in Austria will have a new fast chair and mountain restaurant next season.
The resort has announced that a swanky new eight-seat chairlift with covers is replacing the old triple chair above Giggijoch. The new chair will serve blue runs in this sector and have a capacity of 3,700 passengers per hour. The resort is already well-served by fast lifts, though a few bottlenecks remain getting around the slopes.
The Giggijoch sector will be further improved by a new dining option at the Wirtshaus am Giggijoch. The existing self-service restaurant is being redeveloped and improved, and a new table-service option built to expand it.
If you are up for some early autumn skiing, the resort plans to open its glacier slopes from 10 October, celebrating the coming season with the ultimate Austrian party - live bands, pub crawls etc. If the partying doesn’t appeal, there is still the opportunity to test-run the latest skis and snowboards for the new season, while enjoying a few early turns on the glacier. And the FIS World Cup series starts here on the 25 October.
