Cairngorm enjoys first snowfall

Cairngorm mountain
A cold snap across the Scottish Highlands left Cairngorm Mountain with several centimetres of snow this week and a sudden rush of visitors to play in it.
OK, it wasn’t that much but you could throw a few snowballs around to whet the winter appetite…
The funicular railway to the top of Cairngorm’s ski area was particularly popular on Monday, as hill walkers and tourists took full advantage of the winter conditions. You’ll have to wait until December for snow sports to begin though…
But if you’re in Scotland in November and December, why not take in the latest Warren Miller ski movie ‘Dynasty’. The new film is being screened in Perth on Thursday 19 November, Dundee on 1 December and Inverness on 3rd and 15th December.
