Ski tour operator Flexiski has been bought by Hotelplan UK, the company that owns Inghams, Esprit Holidyas and Ski Total.

Flexiski specialises in tailor-made, short-stay ski holidays and was set up in 1990. It currently operates in 48 ski resorts across France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Canada and Japan. It also operates five of its own chalets — one of which, Chalet des Cascades, picked up last year’s World’s Best New Chalet at the World Ski Awards. In 2016, Flexiski won bronze for Best Ski & Winter Sports Holiday Company at the British Travel Awards.

The company, which was owned by Travelopia, will move its HQ from Surbiton on the outskirts of London to Hotelplan’s offices in Godalming, Surrey.

“It’s an exciting time for us with the tailor-made wintersports sector growing quickly,” said Flexiski general manager Paul Carter. “We are looking forward to joining corces and operating within a group with such long-standing experience in the Alps and with an enthusiastic team of like-minded ski specialists at our new home with Hotelplan.”

Along with Esprit, Ski Total and Inghams, Hotelplan also owns Santa’s Lapland, Inntravel and Explore Worldwide.

Hotelplan CEO Paul Carter added: “We are excited to welcome such a highly respected name to our existing family of specialist brands, and further strengthen our position in the flexible tailor-made sector.”
