Four Valley’s village hosts luge cup, opens new kids’ area

Good tobogganing on Savoleyres
La Tzoumaz on the backside of Verbier’s Savoleyres mountain is preparing its local toboggan hill for the imminent arrival of the Valais Sled Trophy.
The tiny village is popular for its 10km long track that families love screaming down on their various sledges. Local sled champions will gather in the resort on Sunday 26 February to take part in the event, which is also open to all and also has heats in Torgon, Anzère and Chandolin (Val d’Anniviers). La Tzoumaz hosts the finale on a shortened version of its course, 6km long and with a 544m vertical descent.
The toboggan course at La Tzoumaz has been considerably improved and lengthened over the past few years; with it’s gondola access to Savoleyres too, the resort is developing more widely as a quiet, family base. And for skiing, Savoleyres has some of the gentlest and quietest slopes in the Verbier area.
This winter also sees the introduction of a new children’s snow garden. It is managed by the Swiss ski school in the resort and is positioned close to the lifts. There’s a playground with various features and the area mascot, Snowli the rabbit. The school takes children from three years old.
