New chalet operator for Paradiski

Les Coches, Paradiski
It’s good to see new operators taking the plunge in these difficult times, and offering a vibrant new choice in a major ski area. Ice and Fire is one such outfit, and will be operating their first chalet for 2010/11, in Les Coches (La Plagne).
Where to Ski and Snowboard was interested in knowing more about it … so contacted Ice and Fire director, Heather Morison.
Morison has worked in the ski industry for about ten years, and Les Coches is a favourite area; so the natural choice for her business. ‘Quite simply, we chose Les Coches because it’s where we love to ski. I suppose the idea of starting the company came from a wish to put everything that I have learnt into practise. There are a large number of chalets available in the Alps at the moment too.’
The French village is one of the small, traditional La Plagne resorts and close to the Vanoise Express link with Les Arcs, so handy for skiing two big areas and for families looking for a quieter, more charming base.
And the chalet choice?
Chalet Campanules is built in local wood and stone and sleeps 24 guests, which Morison explains will give more flexibility to take different sized groups. The bedrooms are built around three sections, each containing double or twin rooms, plus a singleand a bathroom. It’s owner-run, so you’ll receive a personal service and catering to suit your tastes. Chalet facilities also include a sauna, tv lounge, open fire and free wi-fi internet. It’s practically ski-in ski-out, so convenient for the blue runs and Plan Bois chair access towards the rest of La Plagne.
Any other benefits?
A bonus point for this chalet is the lack of single room supplements for solo travellers. So, if you’re thinking of a holiday in this region and want to stay in a catered chalet, the Campanules does offer a limited number of single rooms at no extra cost.
