Olympic teams limber up in Nakiska

With just days to go until the Winter Olympics kick off in Vancouver, many of the ski racers are putting in their training days at resorts around Canada. One such resort is Nakiska – a small ski area between Banff and Calgary, and home to some of thee events in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games.
Teams from around ten or so different countries are using Nakiska’s quiet slopes to continue their daily work-outs and preparations for the coming two weeks. The national Canadian men and women’s teams are there, along with most of the major European Alpine countries, Slovenia, Norway and Croatia. And they’ve been blessed with some cracking weather and snow conditions. Check out the pics…

Team talk
Olympic fever is rising … the Olympic torch arrived in Canada on Sunday and is expected in Vancouver for the opening ceremony on Friday. And it has been announced that Britain’s Lord Sebastian Coe will carry the torch in the relay to the BC Palace Stadium.
