Last season the editorial team at Where to Ski and Snowboard extended its biggest resort price survey. We put together another comprehensive and comparative guide to the cost of eating and drinking in ski resorts in Europe and North America, but also took the survey a step further to include lift passes, ski hire and lessons.

We were able to do this thanks to the hundreds of prices submitted to our online system, from a wide range of resorts visited during the winter season. We are keen to get more prices fed into the system to review for the 2013 edition, so would like your help again.

Our RPI figures feature in almost every resort chapter in the book. These figures are now based on a total of all four costs, but we also show a breakdown of the costs that feed into our calculations. And we give comparative charts, including the top 50 or so resorts where you can save money and the extreme cases – where’s cheapest, where’s shockingly expensive.

So, if you are going skiing and boarding shortly (or have recently returned from a trip) please keep a note of individual costs of food and meals on the mountain and in resort, noting the name of the establishment if possible. Then send them to us using our online form (link is at the bottom of this item).

Anyone can join in, and you don’t need comprehensive figures – if all you have is the typical cost of a small beer, you can feed that in. If you have lots of different prices from identifiable establishments, that’s obviously more helpful.

But they must be from the 2011/12 season, and submitted to us before end April 2012. The most useful contributions could win a free copy of the next edition of the book.

While you are at it … why not gives us your views too. Our system includes a section for resort reports. The form is clearly structured and user-friendly, so please do give it a whirl. The alternative is to email us your prices and reports.
