Ski Weekend starts the season with its annual warm-up in Val d'Isère

Ski Weekend is running its traditional ‘warm-up weekend’ in Val d’Isère from Friday 29 November to Tuesday 3 December. It’s the 20th edition of this popular event, led by Ski Weekend founder Gavin Foster and a hand-picked selection of mountain guides and instructors.

The weekend has acted as a traditional ‘first tracks’ event since its inception in 1999. There’s a choice of options for guests to help get their ski legs back ahead of the season, which include:

• Piste Perfection: Mainly on-piste, working on ski technique
• Tous Neige Tout Terrain: Mainly off-piste, including ski touring and/or hiking to find the best snow
• Belle Trace Off Piste: Challenging skiing accessed by ski touring

Gavin Foster explained the concept: “In the very early days of Ski Weekend, we used to take our staff initially to Tignes and then to Val d’Isère for two or three days of pre-season staff training. In the late-90s, Jean Claude Faudot – ex-head of the Val d’Isère ESF - joined us and with his input we developed the concept of the ‘Warm Up Weekend’.

He added: “It’s a fabulous way to warm up your ski legs right at the start of the season.”

Ski Weekend offers a choice of hotels in Val d’Isère from two-star to four-star options, with packages starting at £989 per person. These include flights, return transfers from Geneva, four nights’ accommodation, a four-day Espace Killy Ski pass, two days’ guiding/instruction (with a supplement for additional two days if required).
