Snow in the city

Looking good for the big air comp
The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, kicked off at London’s Olympia arena today – Wednesday 21 October 2009 and as well as the regular entertainment, the organisers just had to throw in some proper white stuff this year too…
This year, the Dare2b Snow Fest brings the snow indoors for kids (and big kids!) to amuse themselves with snowballs and building snowmen in between ogling the season’s new gear and checking out the resorts – and if you’re there on Saturday 24 October, a stab at the world’s biggest indoor snowball fight.
As always the show is a lively day out for all ages. In addition to the resorts exhibiting in the ‘village’, opening day got going with the Big Air demos on the Trespass slope; X Games gold medallist, Jenny Jones took on the crowd’s questions at the Three Vallées bar and there were off-piste adventures in the theatre. Bargain-hunters have lots of choice for this year’s trendy new gear too.
The event runs until Sunday 25 October, so there’s plenty of time to get yourself over there and join in the fun.
