Snowing again!

Heavy snow in Les Deux Alpes
As you can see from the picture of Les Deux Alpes above, it is snowing heavily in the Alps today. And much more has fallen in the more southerly French resorts than was at first expected from the forecast.
So far, the resort is reporting 40-50cm of fresh snow. Neighbour Alpe-d’Huez is similarly blessed. Gone are the blue skies for the moment, as overcast ones have set in across much of the Alps on Friday – it has been snowing heavily in Austria too, and along the border with Italy. The skies have now begun to clear in the Dolomites, though.
The snow is forecast to bring worthwhile amounts to much of the Alps over the next few days, as the weather continues to be variable. It may continue to produce snowfall in parts of Austria until mid-week. Average accumulations are expected to be 30-40cm in the higher resorts.
We have a few webcam pictures in our Snow section, and will update on amounts and conditions as we receive them.
