Starter courses in Avoriaz

Avoriaz is a fairly snow-sure place to learn (Stéphane Lerendu)
Avoriaz is introducing a new learn-to-ski concept this season, for adults only.
The French resort has created four special nursery areas, specifically for adults. These new zones are enclosed, in a quiet wooded area, to prevent through-traffic; and they are open only to adults. Ski schools will be offering special courses that take newbies through what they see as four main learning stages to skiing. They will also hold on-piste workshops. The concept of the four zones follows various steps - learning to get one’s balance through to skiing over ‘waves’, balance exercises, skidding and turning. The new ski clinics include ski lessons and a lift pass, and are designed to encourage new skiers to the slopes.
Prices start at 146.50 euros (including ski pass) for a 3-day course; 6-days is 329 euros (ski pass and tour of the ski area included). Ski hire charge for beginners: 3 days: 67.50 6 days: 115
