Valle Nevado adds new lifts and slopes
Valle Nevado is expanding [D Watts]
While the northern Hemisphere winter is about to hit peak season, down south they are making preparations for their next winter – which for Valle Nevado in Chile means some significant new developments.
Valle Nevado is busy installing two new lifts and creating five more runs to increase their skiable terrain – offering more blue and red runs to suit intermediates.
A double chairlift will be built in the Ballica sector and a T-bar is being installed to serve the top of the Val d’Inca slopes. Having a lift to this high point will also open up a new ‘back bowl’ area. The new lifts and runs are expected to open for the start of the winter season in June.
The resort has also invested heavily in lodging improvements: the Hotel Valle Nevado is about to receive a makeover, and they have also started work on a new residence – the Valle de Cóndores II. The development will offer lots of new, smart apartments when complete – close to the slopes and good for families.
