Summary

If you like historic Italian towns and don’t insist on a traditional Alpine resort atmosphere, you’ll find the town of Bormio very appealing – though you’re unlikely to be staying right in the old centre. Given the limited slopes of Bormio’s own mountain, plan on taking the free bus out to the Oga-San Colombano area and, perhaps, longer outings – to Santa Caterina or Livigno.
