Summary

A loyal band of regular visitors just love Méribel, and it’s not difficult to see why. For keen piste-bashers who like to rack up the miles but dislike tacky post-war resorts, it’s difficult to beat: unlike other modern purpose-built resorts, Méribel has always insisted on chalet-style architecture.
Other 3V resorts have the edge in some respects. For better snow opt for Courchevel or Val Thorens. For lower prices, Les Menuires. For a more compact village and a lower concentration of Brits, go virtually anywhere.

News – this season 2011/12

The upper stage of the Saulire gondola from Méribel was replaced by a faster eight-seater meeting the cable car up from Courchevel (easing pedestrian access to the other resort). The lower stage will be replaced for 2012/13. A new green run links the mid-station to the Blanchot piste to create a gentle run all the way to the resort.

News – last season

In the Altiport area, a new family fun park (Acticross) was created.
At Mottaret, the Doron ‘Zen’ beginner area was improved and a new magic carpet installed.
