Summary
Scheffau is a rustic little place near Söll, well placed for the SkiWelt’s best (and most central and snow-sure) pistes - though the village itself is not convenient for the lifts. The slopes are not ideal for beginners but, when the snow is good, it can be a great place for intermediates. You can ski to the SkiWelt lifts at Blaiken and take a bus to get back. The area also enjoys Austria’s largest snowmaking operation, so the lack of altitude is less of a problem than it was – but of course snowmaking is not a complete solution.
News – this season 2011/12
Parents can buy one pass between two, which either can use. A short race course opened on Scheffau, complete with video camera to film your descent.
News – last season
An eight-pack, with child safety bar, replaced the Osthang quad from the bottom of the Eiberg quads up to Brandstadl.
