Summary
One slope may be rather like another here, but with its four linked mountains Schladming offers the keen intermediate a real sense of travelling around on the snow. And its solid, valley-town ambience makes it a pleasant change from the Austrian rustic-village norm.
News – this season 2011/12
More car parking and a media building are planned beside Planet Planai. More snowmaking is due on Hochwurzen.
News – last season
An eight-pack replaced the two top draglifts from Hauser Kaibling towards Planai. The Planet Planai skier services centre opened at the base.
The Reiteralm area was extended into the Preunegg valley by the addition of an eight-seat gondola and 2km-long red run with snowmaking. This tipped the resort into our *** category for extent of slopes.
