Summary
Champéry is great for intermediate skiers looking for a quiet time in a lovely place. Access to the Portes du Soleil circuit is not bad; Avoriaz is fairly easy to get to – and there may be better snow there. With exchange rates as they are, readers are not flocking here; if you do go, a report would be welcome.
News – last season 2011/12
At Les Crosets, a six-pack replaced the slow Grand Conche chair and the draglift of the same name. This makes another welcome speedy route to Avoriaz.
News – 2010/11
A new avalanche awareness and safety information park opened. It’s free to enter but you need your own transceiver etc. A new indoor climbing wall opened at the Palladium. And a backpacker hotel, Le Petit Baroudeur, opened.
