Review of Kicking Horse

11th March 2007 by Alastair B

We spent 4 days at Kicking Horse in mid January 2007. The snow was excellent; pretty well pisted on the main runs down and still powder amongst the trees and steeps.

It’s probably best for intermediate-experts. Timid intermediates may find it a bit intimidating since even the blues are pretty fast and steep.

The main runs down from the gondola take a good 20 mins. A single lift gives you any number of long, interesting runs.

We stayed in Golden which was more fun than staying on the hill, although the options at the resort itself are expanding. Golden has a decent number of bars and some great B&Bs;.

The queues are generally non-existent though it can get a little busy with weekenders from Calgary.
