Great service at Ski Amis chalets

Ski Amis’ Chalet Elliot in La Tania that the WTSS team loved staying in
A few years back the WTSS team went for a pre-Christmas team-building jolly at in La Tania. As well as a couple of days skiing in fresh powder and mixed visibility on the slopes of La Tania and Courchevel, we enjoyed staying in Skis Amis’ lovely wooden Chalet Elliot.
This is one of Ski Amis’ eight ‘premium service’ chalets. That means that as well as the normal warm welcome, outdoor hot tub (all except one of their chalets has one), three-course dinners and full English breakfast you get a lot of extra coddling. This includes pre-dinner aperitifs and canapés, superior quality wine with dinner, an additional cheeseboard course, post-dinner liquors, coffee and mints, freshly baked croissants at breakfast and a fresh fruit bowl.

Plus most premium chalets come with top-quality Hypnos beds. And they provide bathrobes, special towels for the hot tub and a choice of firm or soft pillows.
All for a price that doesn’t break the bank. Currently, for example, the price for the week beginning 9 February at Chalet Elliot is £599 for two sharing a room (reduced from the normal £949) and from 23 March for a week is now £499pp (was £829).
The warm and comfy living room at Chalet Elliot
We really enjoyed our stay, with comfy sofas to relax in, a log burning stove and of course, the excellent outdoor hot tub.
The food was delicious, prepared by charming chalet hosts John and Hannika. One evening they even laid on a full Christmas dinner – turkey and all the trimmings, Christmas pudding, mince pies and crackers.
The food is of the same high standard in all Ski Amis chalets – all serve the same dishes designed by professional chefs to ensure high quality and consistency. You won’t find sub-standard food because the chalet staff are trying save on their budget.

And, unlike some other chalet holiday companies, Ski Amis have not reduced the food service to five days a week – their staff still work a six-day week, so you only have to fend for yourself for one day in your holiday.
Ski Amis does not arrange flights. But they do have a very good value shared transfer service on Saturdays from both Geneva and Grenoble airports.
Ski Amis has 20 chalets sleeping from eight to 28 in Les Menuires, La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry (part of the Les Arcs ski area) as well as La Tania. Last year they won Best Chalet/Winter Sports Accommodation Provider (for medium size operators) award in the 2018 British Travel Awards.
