Fancy heading off to Val d’Isère?

Val d’Isère opens this weekend (28 November) to a metre of fresh snow
Val d’Isère opened last weekend with over a metre of snow on the upper slopes and plenty at village level. If you fancy a quick trip out to get your season started, Alpine Weekends still has a few rooms left for its group trip from Thursday 10 to Monday 14 December which gives you the chance to watch the Criterium de la Première Neige men’s World Cup races on the Face de Bellevarde on the Saturday and Sunday. Prices from £495 for twin or double, £595 single excluding flights but including transfers and 4 nights B&B; you can get four days on the slopes if you book an evening flight back.
Alpine Weekends also runs a late season trip to Val d’Isère from 7 to 11 April, when conditions are usually great and the sun is hot. And they do what sounds like a fabulous weekend from 4 to 8 February to St Moritz staying at the 5-star Badrutt’s Palace; on the Sunday you can watch the horse racing on snow on the frozen lake. And from 17 to 21 March they run a fun trip to Mayrhofen, with its lively and varied nightlife and snowsure skiing. With 19 years experience, they will also tailor make short breaks to any resort in the Alps for any period.
