Serre Chevalier has an action-packed new year

With 80% of the ski area over 2,000m, Serre Chevalier can guarantee good natural snow
Serre Chevalier Vallée has a jam-packed calendar of events for the new year, with amazing deals on accommodation and lift passes — starting from just €207pp*. Some 80 per cent of the ski area lies at over 2,000m so the resort can guarantee good natural snow conditions.
The events begin on 10-11 January, when the French ski resort hosts a weekend of vintage car racing on its ice track, as well as celebrating the start of the week-long international meeting of the world’s best snowkiters in the Serre Chevalier Snowkite Masters. Snowkiting is a cross between kite surfing and snowboarding, and Serre Chevalier has a legendary kiting venue for the event — the Col du Lautaret.
Later in the month, the Altitude Jazz Festival runs from 24 January to 7 February and Theatre Festival with shows each evening from 9 to 14 February — there is even a Comic Book Festival with workshops dedicated to cartoons and comics.
Towards the end of the season, the French Downhill Skiing Championships take place from 23-30 March.
For après-ski amusement all year round, there is also Skolf — golf on snow with illuminated golf balls in the evening, as well as the Deval’Bob toboggan, new for last year, which has a 4,000m run through the forest, 26 turns and 573m vertical height changes.
