Ski 2 features two charming resorts

Ski 2 specialises in the ski resort of Champoluc in Italy
Ski 2 is a small tour operator that offers personal service tailored to your needs, at amazingly reasonable prices.
It was started almost 20 years ago by Roger Walker (who runs the UK office) and Simon Brown (who runs the operation in the resorts). Until last season it specialised in the small unspoilt village of Champoluc in Italy.
It knows Champoluc like the back of your hand and offers a huge variety of hotels and apartments to suit all budgets – I’ve stayed at several of their hotels, both in resort and up the mountain and loved them all. Ski 2 also has its own ski school, ski hire and nursery (all staffed by Brits) and lays on a resort shuttle service to and from the lifts and bars and restaurants.
Nearly half of its clients go for short breaks of three or four days and it can arrange holidays of any duration. It provides private transfers to and from any of six nearby airports. And its prices include transfers, lift passes, ski orientation guiding on the first morning, entry to the resort swimming pool, free ski storage at the bottom of the main lift, use of the ‘on-demand’ Ski 2 minibus service around the resort and vouchers for lunch at selected mountain restaurants.
They can arrange anything from lessons for complete beginners to heliskiing with mountain guides for experts, plus shopping trips to Milan or Turin (or transport and tickets for top soccer matches there if you prefer). They even offer race training courses for kids on selected dates (Simon’s son Ryan Brown, 17, is a top racer with the Champoluc team and last season skied for Great Britain in the Youth Olympics in eastern Turkey). And Ski 2 does a good business in weddings in the mountains, too — visit skiweddings.com.
Last season Ski2 started offering Les Gets for the first time – with two catered chalets and a self-catering apartment.
And as we reported earlier this month they are now offering two-centre holidays combining Champoluc and Les Gets.
Also new with Ski 2 in Les Gets for this season is an “on-demand” Ski 2 minibus service to and from the lifts and to other nearby resorts and to bars and restaurants in the evening. So you can get quickly (and at no cost) into the main Portes du Soleil circuit by being taken to major lifts into the heart of it – Les Gets’ local skiing is great but it takes quite a time on skis to get to the main circuit around Avoriaz and Châtel.
