Spotlight on Les Arcs Mille8 leisure area

Mille8 in Arc 1800 features tubing, sledging and facilities for children and beginners
Last winter, Les Arcs opened a new family area offering tubing, sledging, a restaurant and children and beginner-specific facilities.
Mille8 in Arc 1800 opened earlier this year and completely revolutionises après-ski in the French resort. There’s a freestyle run with snow sculptures on which you can be filmed, a specially designed walking trail through the trees plus protected beginner and children’s areas with covered, easy-to-use magic carpets.
As well as the snowsports facilities, the Mille8 development includes an aquatic centre and golf simulator plus a new slope-side Le Lodge restaurant and bar with its own dance floor, accessed by the brand new dedicated Villards gondola which stays open every day until at least 7:30pm. Le Lodge is open until 11pm three nights a week.
La Lodge is a new restaurant, bar and events venue — with dance floor
The new La Piscine aquatic centre has views of Mont Blanc and features an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzis, whirlpools, waterfalls, a slide and water play area for children. There’s also a fitness and wellness centre with saunas, steam baths and gym — all accessed directly from Arc 1800 via a lift and covered walkway. The centre is open daily 11am to 7:30pm (Saturday 2pm to 7pm) and until 8.30pm three nights a week.
The La Luge toboggan run goes from the top of the Villards gondola (accessible to pedestrians) for 900m, before passing through a tunnel to the finish line. This is also open from 2pm until 7.30pm — and 8.30pm for three nights a week. There’s also sledging in Arc 2000 at the new Rodeo Park which offers a 3km toboggan track from the top of Col de Chal with a 400m vertical drop.
All the facilities at Mille8 are free to use, apart from La Piscine, La Luge and eating at Le Lodge. There is a charge for Rodeo Park, too.
French Alps specialist Ski Collection has teamed up with Les Arcs to offer skiers staying in Les Arcs or Peisey Vallandry a special deal with their ski passes this winter.
This December (17/12 and 24/12) buy two adult Les Arcs/Peisey Vallandry or Paradiski lift passes and receive two complimentary lunch vouchers at Le Lodge in Mille8 per party — worth €38. (Vouchers are valid for a two-course meal including main course and dessert worth €19 per voucher.)
For the Easter weeks beginning 1 April and 8 April, buy two adult Les Arcs/Peisey Vallandry or Paradiski lift passes and receive two complimentary Mille8 or Rodeo Park sledge vouchers per party (worth €8 per run).
