Eurostar ski train tickets now on sale

8th July 2009, by Chris Gill

Tickets are now on sale for Eurostar’s ski train services to the French Alps - and starting prices are a little lower than last winter.

Eurostar will offer two weekly services for winter 2009/10 from London St Pancras or Ashford, Kent, to Moûtiers, Bourg-St-Maurice and Aime-la-Plagne. The first day service will begin on 19 December, with the first night train starting on 01 January. Both run until 17 April 2010.

And you can travel from as little as £149 return (that’s £30 cheaper than 2008/09) - all inclusive.

Travel to resorts located in Switzerland will also be available on Eurostar, thanks to onwards connections in Paris. These will be available later in the year.

The ski train overnight services are a popular way to gain an extra day on the slopes - departing London after work on a Friday night you can be in Bourg-St-Maurice by 06:30am on Saturday, ready for the short hop up to Les Arcs for example. At the end of your week, you spend the quieter transfer day (Saturday) skiing before catching the late train out of Bourg.
