Helmets a must for kids in Las Lenas
Las Lenas in Argentina has announced that children under 12 years old must now wear a ski helmet.
The decision is the latest move towards making helmets mandatory - for children at least - and follows the rules brought in to Austrian and Italian ski resorts recently.
Las Lenas is considered Argentina’s main ski area and is just beginning its winter 2009 season. The resort hopes that by ensuring children are kept safe on the slopes, that adults too will be encouraged to wear helmets.
If you’re heading down south, snowfall has improved after the slow start and there’s now over a metre snow base. Lots of fresh snow is forecast during the week ahead.
