Verbier cable car revamped

Swanky new vistas
One of Verbier’s long-serving cable cars has reopened this month following an upgrade.
The Tortin-Gentianes cable-car that serves the top slopes at Mont Fort has received a smart new makeover for the coming winter season; its original cabins have been replaced with ultra-modern new ones - boasting panoramic views.
But the main reason for the upgrade wasn’t primarily to enhance the views; the new lift should reduce boarding time and improve the ride time.
The system has long been due an overhaul, having whisked skiers and boarders to the resort’s high point for almost 30 years.
And improvements further across the Four Valleys are expected in the next year or two, with plans for a new gondola in the Four Valleys to improve access to Nendaz from Siviez, - removing the rickety old chair and drag there will be welcome news when it does happen.
