Atomic launches limited Eddie ski

Eddie the Eagle has skied on Atomics throughout his career
Atomic has released a limited edition ski to coincide with the release of the new film Eddie the Eagle. The ARC ski is based on Atomic’s Redster XTi – a mix of a slalom and GS ski, and signed by the Olympic ski jumper himself.
Atomic initially sponsored Eddie for the Calgary Olympics in 1988 — around which the film is based — and he continues to use Atomic products today. To celebrate Eddie’s sportsmanship, bravery and tenacity, Atomic has custom-designed a ski to that looks similar to the ones that Eddie started on in the 1980s.
Only six of these skis will be made — one pair will be given to Eddie himself and the other five will be available to the general public through competitions.
The ski featuring full sidewall, race rocker and power woodcore that adds a ton of stability and dampens vibrations at speed. This combination of technology, along with the titanium insert, gives the ski the well-known Atomic edge grip and versatility to conquer any demanding piste in any weather condition.
To coincide with the new film, Eddie the Eagle starring Hugh Jackman, Atomic has released a limited edition ARC ski signed by Eddie himself.
These skis are limited to only six examples, of which one pair will be presented to Eddie himself as thanks for his hard work promoting snowsports in the UK to all ages. Together with chosen partners, Atomic will be making five pairs available to the general public through competitions.
The ski itself is based on Atomic’s new piste ski, the Redster XTi – a powerful fusion of Slalom and Giant Slalom ski featuring Full Sidewall, Race Rocker and Power Woodcore that adds a ton of stability and dampens vibrations at speed. This combination of technology, along with the titanium insert, gives the ski the well-known Atomic edge grip and versatility to conquer any demanding piste in any weather condition.
The film Eddie the Eagle opened earlier this week, featuring Taron Egerton as Eddie and Aussie hunk Hugh Jackman as his reluctant, heavy-drinking fictional coach Bronson Peary.
Jason Summerfield, who looks after Atomic in the UK said: “Atomic and Eddie the Eagle have a longstanding, close relationship and we have worked together on several charity functions so we felt it was only fitting to celebrate the launch of the film and Eddie’s endless support of UK Snowsports with a very special, limited edition ski.”
