The ski shuttle service that ferries guests around Banff’s three main resorts is to be improved for next season – 2011/12.

Buses will make six new stops on the circuit of Banff Avenue hotels to improve access for many more skiers and boarders. The new pickups for all three resorts (Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise) will be in addition to those already outside the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel and behind the Mount Royal hotel and will continue to be included on the tri-area lift pass.

According to a spokesman for the Banff ski areas, the choice of bus services has been improving. These range from special hotel pickups to express services from central hubs. The resorts have always promised to review the service later in the season on the basis of guest feedback and popularity, and this is the result.

CEO of Banff Lake Louise Tourism Julie Canning added: “Frequent ski shuttle service from many of our great hotels is what visitors asked for and the ski areas are delivering to make ski vacations even more enjoyable.”

Like much of western Canada, Banff’s three resorts are enjoying a splendid winter, including the best January snowfall in five years and continued excellent conditions.
