Bartelski races in Austria

Formula One Bartelski
Former Alpine racing ace Konrad Bartelski was in action in Austria last weekend, not on skis but leading a British team in an international go-cart race in Ischgl.
The thirty-strong teams from all over Europe turned Ischgl’s summer streets into a Grand Prix-style circuit for the two-day event – one of the region’s many summer activities once the snow melts.
The annual Art of Cart weekend – run to incredibly high F1-style standard – has become a highlight of Ischgl’s summer calendar. Bartelski headed up the British team, which included Ski Total/Inghams ski executive Goran Zunic, Jennifer Dallas and Tess Bedard from Crystal Ski, and producers from ESPN TV. The race is tough, attracting more professional rally and race drivers every year – so it is taken seriously. The British team were pleased with their performance.
Art of Cart kicked off Ischgl’s summer season of active – and not so active – events. The highlight this year will be the resort’s first hot air balloon festival from 20-22 August (incl). The festival will feature early morning and late afternoon flights.
