Beginner zone for Val Thorens

New slopes for novices
A new beginner area will open in Val Thorens this winter, as part of a 1.5 million euro investment in improving facilities for novices.
The new learning area is fully equipped with four free modern moving carpet lifts, two of them covered for comfort. Travelling at 1.2m per second, the lifts are faster than the traditional draglifts found in other parts of the resort – user-friendly too!
The new beginner area has also been located for better progression to the blue and green runs served by the Cascade chairlift. The carpets run in two directions, which means novices can ride the lift down if needed.
What’s more, beginners have been gradually getting a better deal on lift passes in the Three Valleys too: Val Thorens is offering a special pass at half the normal rate. This covers nine lifts and costs 18,75 euros for the day or 15 euros per half-day – so you don’t have to commit yourself to a full weekly pass before you’ve even tried skiing or snowboarding.
