British snowboarder Billy Morgan has this week become an internet sensation after landing the world’s first ever quad cork on a snowboard.

He pulled off the astonishing feat in the Livigno ski resort of Mottolino, over a jump that took 40 hours to build and shape. The race to pull off the first ever quadruple cork has been on unofficially since the start of the year and Billy has been a contender since he stomped the first-ever Triple Backside Rodeo, back in December 2011

Billy said he was “so stoked” to land the Backside 1800° Quadruple Cork on Wednesday.

“I’ve been thinking about this for so long, it’s such a relief to have it done. It could have been cleaner, but I’m still pumped!” he told Red Bull.

A Quad Cork 1800 is a jump containing four off axis flips and five full rotations. That’s one full flip and half a rotation more than the previous biggest trick, a Triple Cork 1620, landed last month by Yuki Cadano at the US Open Slopestyle.
