Brentwood Ski Slope to stay open

Brentwood Park Ski and Snowboard Centre to remain open
Originally established in 1974, the ski area is one of the closest to central London and for more than four decades has been teaching skiing to children and adults alike as well as providing recreational snowsports all year round.
Following news just over a year ago, that the local council had proposed a housing application at the ski slope’s location, a wide-ranging campaign was launched to fight the proposals. The proposal had the backing from the local community, ski clubs, ski personalities, international ski racers, ski shops, Snowsport governing bodies, local Councillors, the Brentwood Mayor, Snowsport and local publications.
In total, 2598 signed an online petition and 160 comments were logged objecting to the proposal on the council portal and one year on and the application for houses has been withdrawn, which will allow Brentwood Park Ski and Snowboard Centre to continue providing skiing and snowboarding activities to anybody regardless of their ability.
