Bumper start to Australian ski season

Skiers headed to Perisher in Australia are advised to pack their snorkels
The ski season in Australia has started with a bang — with Perisher in the Southern Alps recording a metre of snow in the past week, the biggest snowfall for the start of a winter in more than half a century.
The season began in Perisher, New South Wales, on Friday, 3 June, with Thredbo opening this week. Falls Creek, Mount Buller and Hotham are also enjoying record-levels of early snowfall to kick off the season early after being closed for two years due to Covid.
Perisher today says another 75cm of snow is forecast to fall in the next seven days — and recommends skiers pack their snorkels.
The ski resorts are currently advertising for seasonal workers.
