Ski lift companies in the Three Valleys have been urged to help impose a cap on beer prices in their resorts, according to a report in the Times online.

The report revealed that lift company representatives and British tour operators have met this week in response to criticisms that the ski area is becoming too expensive. Discussions took place on ways to cut some of the costs. Possible lift pass price reductions seem unlikely, but another proposal might see upper limits on the beer and coffee prices.

The organisers will now mail restaurants and bars in the region warning that they will lose custom should costs continue to rise – what effect that will have remains to be seen.

The high costs of most of the Three Valleys resorts were confirmed in our own price survey last winter summarised in this feature.
