Cervinia extends season

Cervinia, Plan Maison
Cervinia in Italy will stay open a bit longer this season, as announced by the ski area’s lift company.
Thanks to excellent late snow conditions, Cervino S.p.A has decided to open the lifts for another weekend: 8/9 May. The gondolas and cable cars to Plateau Rosa will remain open, along with the chairlifts Plan Maison, Fornet, Bontadini and the link with Zermatt.
The region enjoys one of the longer seasons in the Alps, and Cervinia is one of the few resorts in Italy to offer skiing and boarding this late in the season – the village is at 2050m and there’s skiing up to 3480m (not including the glacier, which goes to 3820m). And this season the Aosta area has received regular good snowfalls throughout much of the winter, despite a shaky start. There is normally a short summer season too from the Italian side, to access the high glacier slopes shared with Zermatt.
For the May Day weekend (30 April - 2 May) the spring party kicks off, with discounts on heli-skiing, music, snow cat tours and pond skimming fun and more ...
