One of the most convenient airports in France for skiers flocking to the Alps has undergone a major renovation to improve services this winter.

Chambéry Savoie airport, which is within an hour and a half’s drive of many top ski resorts in France, has renovated and re-designed its terminal as more UK flights prepare to land there this winter.

The renovations have been designed provide a better experience to clients and manage passenger flows, and include: belts at all the check-in points to speed up baggage management and reduce passenger waiting times; reorganisation of the security and customs control area to improve passenger flow; expansion and refurbishment of the boarding area and total renovation of the toilets. The duty free shop has been relocated and extended – offering a better browsing and waiting experience to passengers.

Chambéry Savoie airport is one hour’s drive from Les Arcs, Méribel and Megève, one hour and fifteen minutes from La Plagne, Courchevel and Les Menuires, and less than an hour and a half from Val d’Isère, Tignes, Val Thorens (and many other ski resorts).

It is connected to nine airports in the UK, and will be welcoming skiers from four new routes this winter — London, Doncaster, Manchester and Norwich, operated by British Airways and Flybe.

British Airways has flights from London City and London Stansted. Flybe has flights from Birmingham, Cardiff, Doncaster, Exeter, Manchester, Norwich and Southampton.
