Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport has teamed up with Ski Chic

This winter, if you’re flying into Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport and the worst happens, the airport will organise ski equipment to be delivered to your accommodation immediately.

Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport has partnered with Skichic, an online company that hires ski clothes including trousers, jacket, goggles and gloves and delivers the kit straight to resort.

As well as a way to get you on the slopes fast, Skichic has been touted as a good alternative for occasional or first-time skiers who want to travel hand luggage and not make the heavy investment on ski clothing. Ski tour operator and chalet operator Mountain Heaven is also working with Skichic.com company at its properties in Meribel and La Plagne, with plans to roll it out across other resorts for next season.

“Security checks can be stressful and having to leave a belonging or losing a luggage can spoil one’s holiday. Thanks to our new services, passengers can fully enjoy their travels and their holidays and therefore make sure to not end their trip with a bad experience” explains Nicolas Pelerin, director of Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport.

From December 2018 to April 2019, skiers can fly direct to Chambéry in the heart of the French Alps from eight airports in the UK, with two airlines: British Airways and Flybe. British Airways has flights from London City, London Stansted, and Manchester. The airline has added a new flight from Manchester on Sundays (and is keeping the Saturday flight). Flybe has flights from Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Manchester and Southampton.
