Club Med will open its first resort in North America this December, the ski-in, ski-out four-trident Québec Charlevoix in Canada.

The Massif de Charlevoix ski area in which the resort is situatied is just under an hour’s drive from Québec city, and has the biggest vertical drop (770m) in Eastern Canada, with an above-average annual snowfall for the area. The skiable area of 406acres is small by European standards, but it has 52 mainly tree-lined pistes overlooking the St Lawrence river — the steepest of which, Le Charlevoix, has a pitch of 64%. Skiing and snowboarding lessons are included as well as ice-skating, snow shoeing, Nordic walking and hiking — though all equipment hire is extra.

Club Med Québec Charlevoix will be the first Club Med resort to open in Canada and the first in its portfolio to be open all year round. There are 302 rooms and an additional 25 suites and private lounge in its five-Trident “Exclusive Collection” space.

There are three restaurants including “Le Chalet”, a gourmet lounge showcasing reinvented Quebecois specialities and “Terroir & Co”, a family restaurant for interactive dinners, featuring cheeses and charcuterie from the region as well as a main restaurant made up of five dining rooms.

There will also be two bars, a Nordic spa, a snow fountain and outdoor terrace overlooking the St Lawrence River.

Charlevoix is a designated World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and Club Med Charlevoix will take families of all ages with childcare available from four months to 17 years old.
