Cracker of an April Fool

Will it catch on, do you think?

Ski slope, après-ski and, er Barbados? Well, that is the combination if you tried to take up the Iglu’s Caribbean Skiing Cruise. But …

Ha Ha, it was of course an April Fool – but a pretty innovative one!

Received in our inbox this morning was a serious looking press release advertising the following holiday, and a ‘proper’ page on their website:

Iglu (cruise and ski agents) has announced the launch of their first cruise ship – which will have on board as its main feature a 150m ski slope. Alongside it will be an Alpine-style après-ski bar, Savoyard food and hot tub. The idea has come from a loyal customer base, who enjoy both skiing and cruising holidays. The ship, named Iglucruise, will carry 1,129 passengers on its week-long trip which is first scheduled for 15 December 2011.

The Caribbean Skiing Cruise holiday costs from £799pp and includes full use of the slope and equipment hire, throughout the week’s trip, plus all the more usual cruising holiday entertainment. The ski slope is on the top deck and is made from Perma-Snow, an all weather ski carpet, and with its own a button lift.

Nice try – guys wink

However, Iglu do sell actual cruises and actual ski holidays. But not combined.
