Another ski pass partnership in the US is gathering momentum. Crested Butte and Eldora Mountain in Colorado have been added to the Rocky Mountain Super Pass for next season.

For the 2014/15 ski season, the $509 (approx. £302) pass offers unlimited access to Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Eldora Mountain, along with six ski / snowboard days in Steamboat, three in Crested Butte and five days in New Zealand’s Mt Ruapehu. The pass also includes 20 discounted day passes for friends and family.

The Rocky Mountain Super Pass was brought in when Intrawest ran both resorts. Eldora Mountain was last season part of Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass, but said the resulting crowds on its slopes were too much for its infrastructure to cope. The Epic Pass costs $729 (about £432), includes 27 mountains in five countries, and Vail Resorts sells approximately 300,000 each year.

There is one more partnership pass in Colorado, the Gold Pass from Colorado Ski Country, which last season offered unlimited access to 20 resorts including Arapahoe Basin, Aspen, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte,  Steamboat, Telluride, and Winter Park — for $3,000 (approx. £1,780) a pop.
